Irish Friendly V Denmark

The Football Association of Ireland has announced a friendly date with Denmark in Aarhus on August 22nd.

Manager Steve Staunton, who captained Ireland in the last meeting against the Danes five years ago, commented: "The Denmark game is at the start of the new season so it is a good opportunity to get the lads together ahead of the remaining qualifiers.”

Austria V Scotland Friendly

Scotland will take on Austria at the Gerhard Hanappi stadium in Vienna on 30th May for a friendly game ahead of the close season.

Walter Smith is aware that many of his players would be needing a game. He said:
“Several of the players will face a long time without a game before the Faeroes game so this match will be an important part of the build-up to the qualifier,” Smith said.
