Latest Tables Updated

I've updated the Euro 2008 qualifying tables on the homepage to reflect the games of Wednesday 12th September.

Group A looks interesting with Poland two points clear at the top ahead of Finland. Portugal have been struggling of late and are two points further back but have a game in hand.

Group B was the group of the night with Scotland pulling off a fantastic victory in Paris. They're a point ahead of Italy who they're yet to have their second encounter. France dropped back into third place - a point behind Italy.

Group C is certainly tight at the top with Greece leading on 19 points and both Norway and Turkey on 17.

Group D is all but wrapped up with Germany and the Czech Republic almost guaranteed qualification. Wales have no hope despite a great win last night.

Group E is another fascinating group and features England. We've climbed into second place, three points behind Croatia. Russia are third on 18 points and Israel fourth on 17. We face the current leaders in the last game of the season, whilst Russia are at the bottom team Andorra. This all means that our next game against Estonia is crucial and then our away trip to Russia is almost certain to be the deciding game.

Group F sees Northern Ireland faulting. Sweden, who have a game in hand are joined by Spain on 19 points while Northern Ireland are on 16. It doesn't look good for the lads, but I'm sure they won't give in.

Group G is a three horse race between Romania, Holland and Bulgaria. But the boys in orange are only in that position thank to a last minute strike from Ruud. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.
