Group E Review

Overall not a bad night when you think of it. England got the three points they needed and Russia and Croatia could only manage a goalless draw. The only fly in the ointment was that Israel drew with Andorra - but we weren't expecting any different. The good thing about that result, however, is that Israel could only knock 2 past them, which leaves them on the same goal-difference as England.

England's next match is at home against Israel, and it doesn't need me to tell you how important it is. Ideally we'd love to get Macedonia to take a point at Russia and Croatia to fail to beat Estonia.

So congratulations to England, but we're still fourth!
