Germany Goes Down Public Broadcasting Route

The German free-to-air channels ARD and ZDF have won the rights to broadcast the major matches of the EURO 2008 tournament.

It's great news as this tournament should be made as open and public as possible. Let's hope the rest of the nations in the race to get coverage put forward strong public bids.
