Poland & Ukraine To Be Euro 2012 Hosts

Well Italy where in the lead to host the Euro 2012 tournament, but it they've been pipped at the post by Poland & Hungary.

We said earlier this month that we doubted that Italy would win the contest to host the Euro 2012 tournament because of the recent football-related violence and the corruption scandels. My view is that UEFA simply couldn't take the risk.

There is, of course, risk with hosting in Poland and Ukraine where corruption appears to be a way of life - we just hope that giving them the opportunity to be at the forefront of the world stage encourages them to put on fantastic spectacle but also a well run tournament.

Poland also hasn't been without it's controversy as they too, according to the BBC, have had their own match-fixing scandals. There's also the possibility of political interference and both UEFA and FIFA has warned them about it. But, surely it's only fair to rotate the tournament around Europe?

We'd just like to say well done to Poland and Ukraine! But what are your thoughts let us know in the forum.
