Stewart Downing or Joe Cole?

Who should play down the left wing - Downing or Joe Cole?

Downing played a very solid game against Greece, even though the choice will be less critical in the first Euro 2008 qualifying game against Andorra than it will be against Croatia or Russia. Downing is, however fully motivated to take Cole's place. He recently said:
"It was a challenge for me because Joe has been playing there for the last I don't know how long. But the manager knows what I can do, he has had me for five years. Luckily I played well and hopefully have done enough to get another chance. If I have to sit on the bench in the next game or maybe play, that is what I am going to do. It is my sixth cap, but you can never rest on your last game. Obviously, there are players to come back in - Joe Cole and Wayne Rooney - but hopefully, I will get another chance."
