Group C Preview

We're somewhat less excited about Group C in the Euro 2008 Qualifiers.

We're all aware of the tensions between Turkey and Greece following the invasion of Cyprus a good few years ago. That will lead to some interestingly hot games between the two which we hope won't boil over like the game that lead to Turkey having to play there first few games behind closed doors.

It's anyone's group ...
Greece are obviously European Champions, Turkey can battle their way, Norway have a fair bit of talent and Hungary can take on anyone and provide difficult opposition. But if I had to put my money on a winner of Group C, I'd put it on Greece.

Finishing Second we have ..
Norway. They could just have too much class for the rest and I don't feel they'll be rattled by the Turks or hassled by the Hungarians.

In with a shout ...
Bosnia, Hungary or Turkey. Ok we're covering our options, but its just too difficult to tell.

The fans will be quiet ...
Malta and Moldova won't feature in the draw in a couple of years - and they probably know it.
